Over the past few months, we’ve made tremendous strides together, thanks to your incredible support! Here are just a few of the amazing projects we’ve been able to complete: Five new homes in the Đồng Tháp region: These houses now provide safe, decent living conditions for five families in need. The second Zaller bridge: Thanks to Tom and Lara Zaller, a second 30-meter bridge now connects an isolated village to essentials like easier access to school and medical services, helping bring the community closer to everything they need. Fifty additional cataract surgeries: Sponsored by Guido Adriaenssens, these surgeries have restored sight to mainly elderly individuals, giving them back their independence. Nhà Sac Tôc Têrêsa and Kim Phuoc shelters: Thanks to generous donations, we’ve been able to provide new beds, school supplies, and a freezer, creating a more nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. We’re currently working on additional projects to complete by year-end, i...
Thanks to the donations received, we have been able to continue improving the lives of the children at the Kim Phuoc shelter in Kon Tum province. In recent months, they have received a large television and a laptop primarily dedicated to learning English, a karaoke set, and playground equipment. With the same goal of developing the children's English skills, we have set up a tutoring system that allows some of these children to have weekly conversation sessions via videoconference with some of you. We are always looking for new tutors, so feel free to contact us if you are up for an hour of fun per week with these young Vietnamese children! In the province of Ca Mau, we were also able to provide financial support, allowing more than 50 children to participate in a one-month summer camp program. Additionally, we awarded scholarships to 10 primary school children and 3 college students. Finally, we have completed the construction of 13 new houses that already accommodate their new fa...
Hope this message finds you all in high spirits! Our Vietnamese New Year Fundraising Party on February 10 was an absolute blast! We were thrilled to ring in Têt with our Atlanta pals and had our hearts connected with friends from all corners of the globe. Thao's culinary skills had everyone's taste buds doing a happy dance, and the turnout was fantastic – over 70 awesome people joined in for the fun! Now, the moment we've all been waiting for – the funds! Thanks to your incredible generosity, we've managed to pull in nearly $30,000 since the year kicked off. Big shoutout to everyone who contributed, and a special mention to those who fuelled the cause by munching on Thao's scrumptious bread and desserts. You guys rock! A quick shoutout to our partners at Second Chance Aid – they're doing a stellar job helping us smoothly transfer these funds to Vietnam and even sorting out tax receipts for those who fancy one. For the exciting part, let’s dive into our plans for...
Our summer news!
We are delighted to share with you our latest project in Vietnam. We have successfully constructed a large greenhouse spanning over 11,000 sq ft at the Nhà Sac Tôc Têrêsa, a boarding school for 250 children in Ban Me Thuot.
Since our return from Vietnam, we have been working on several new projects.
Our last project during this trip was at the Tây Nam Eye hospital in Ho Chi Minh City where your donations allowed 45 patients to have cataract surgery.
During this last trip in the Dông Tháp province, we focused on our house construction project.
We drove 7 hours by car and motorbike to reach a small village in the Cà Mau province to inaugurate the new Friendship Bridge donated by the Zaller family.
Last night, we finished the first part of our journey that was mainly focusing on children and education.
We spent the day in the countryside of the Dâk Lâk province visiting several minority villages.
Today was our first day following up our 2023 projects onsite in South Vietnam. And what a day!
The construction of several houses have begun in Dông Tháp, around 150km from Ho Chi Minh City.
The new bridge is almost entirely built in less than 5 weeks!
We will only be onsite in a couple of weeks but the construction work has begun in Tân Thành, in the Càm Mau province, for a new bridge donated by the Zaller family.
